MAFS UK groom responds after people suspect ‘white powder’ on his nose during wedding
‘No wonder he was so happy on his wedding day’
Steven from this season of MAFS UK has responded to a TikTok made by a viewer, questioning a white “powder” under his nose on his wedding day.
The ex-football player married Nelly Patel in an episode aired this week. They immediately clicked and were instantly attracted to each other. But some eagle-eyed viewers noted a “suspicious” white mark right under his nose that looked like a powder. Steven commented on a video zooming in on the mark to clear up the rumours.

“Can confirm that is my scar,” he commented on the TikTok. “I get it all the time as well, so you’re not the first.”
The user blamed dodgy lighting for why they mistook his scar for a suspicious white powder.
“I have nothing against your scar, I also have a facial scar,” the TikTok user replied. “The lighting was definitely not in your favour.”
Steven has talked about the scars he got after a brutal attack outside a club by nine men. 10 years after this incident, he’s had multiple cosmetic surgeries done to help repair his face.
“I fractured my right cheekbone, I’ve damaged my teeth, I’ve got a few scars on my chin,” Steven told the Daily Mail.
He added: “I shattered my nose, so I’ve still got a slight bend in there, but I had reconstructive surgery.”
The awful attack cut the MAFS contestant’s football career short, as he said it knocked his confidence. He used to play professionally for Ebbsfleet United Football Club, but now works as an investment banker.

“My positive outlook, why I am the way I am today, the way I see the world… is because of that attack. At first it was like, I’ve got scars on my face, people are going to see me a little bit differently,” he said.
“But now I see them as the reason I am who I am. It’s character building. It shows that I’ve won, and they lost.”
