People slam Charlie Kirk’s wife for ‘ignoring his beliefs’ as she announces HUGE career move

‘How disrespectful to her husband’s legacy’

Following the death of her husband, and Turning Point USA founder, Charlie Kirk, his widow, Erika, has been announced as the new CEO and board chair of his conservative nonprofit.

Charlie Kirk founded Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012 at the behest of Tea Party activist Bill Montgomery. Tied instinctively to conservative politics and Christianity, TPUSA became a behemoth in the political activism scene with Charlie at the helm.

Following his death, Erika said she was going to make Turning Point “the biggest thing this nation has ever seen”, and keeping with that promise, she has been announced as the new chair and CEO.

The announcement read: “In Ecclesiastes, King Solomon wrote that mankind is to be tested by God. Today we are facing such a test, yet we also know that God has prepared us with everything we need to overcome this ordeal.

“It was the honour of our lives to serve as board members at Charlie’s side. Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one. He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests. And now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA.”

The nonprofit also shared its intention to “make it more powerful and enduring than ever before”, but people on Twitter have clocked a major discrepancy in the business decision.

Erika Kirk’s Turning Point USA news is ‘ironic’

Charlie Kirk’s right-wing opinions built him an empire, but they also sparked a wave of critics who picked apart practically everything he said. For that reason, most of the internet is pretty familiar with his earlier left-field statements.

Responding to Erika Kirk’s Turning Point USA announcement, one person pointed out: “Shouldn’t she be in the kitchen and prioritising her kids over a career like Charlie said all women should be doing?”

“Didn’t he say women should stay home and bear children, not be the CEO of businesses?” another wrote.

A third said: “How disrespectful to her husband’s legacy… he would’ve wanted her in the kitchen!”

Charlie Kirk never shied away from sharing his feelings about womanhood, and in one debate, he argued: “Just get married early. Reject the siren song of modernity and have lots of kids. Being a partner at a local law firm actually isn’t that big of a deal. Having three kids is a really big deal and will make you happier, and it’s okay to be a stay-at-home mom.”

He also claimed that women “having children is more important than having a career” and rejected the idea that women can perform as well as men in high-powered leadership roles.

All women except Erika, it seems.
