The Emmys 2025 was back in business last night, and nothing says pop culture chaos than a red carpet menace making everyone laugh in unsettling ways. It’s become the standard order of business and perfect way to bag yourself a load of press – and last night, the honour went to the person dressed up as Michael Jackson on the red carpet of the Emmys 2025. But who actually was it behind the Michael Jackson costume – who spent the start of the night hee heeing up the proceedings? It’s only the most chaotic reality TV icon to come out of this year, and I wouldn’t expect anything less.

There was a chaotic arrival on the red carpet of the 2025 Emmys and it wasn’t even the life-size Labubu – it was Michael Jackson. Back from the dead. It wasn’t Thriller night, it was CHAOS night – and loads of people had no clue who it was actually terrorising the place. But those who did know, knew it was exactly the type of nonsense this reality TV legend was known for.

Who else? Kori King has been the breakout start of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17, and the 2025 Emmys wasn’t the first time she’s done Michael Jackson. In fact, Kori’s Michael Jackson has become the harrowing stuff of legend. It’s not just MJ she does, though – Kori claims to have made over $500,000 on Cameo since she was on Drag Race this year. She’s constantly been the celeb right at the top of their charts meaning that the most people are paying for a video message from her.

She’s known for not just doing Michael Jackson, but also doing impersonations of Shrek and becoming “Kori Toot” – a terrifying alter ego based upon her season 17 cast mate Susie Toot.

Kori King posted before the Emmys that she was “looking forward to breaking the internet.” Looks like the Drag Race diva did just that.
