Calling all doom scrollers: The Manchester Tab is recruiting a brand new TikTok Editor

It’s time to put that TikTok addiction to good use because applications to join The Manchester Tab’s 25/26 editorial team as our TikTok Editor are now open!
Students from any university in Manchester are encouraged to apply.
We’re looking for students who keep their eye on upcoming trends and are passionate about creating relatable and entertaining content.
You can apply via the Google form at the bottom of this article, with applications closing at 23:59pm on Sunday 14th September.
So, what is the job?

The successful applicant will work alongside the editorial team with the responsibility of producing content for our TikTok page. You’ll also be in charge of monitoring the account, alongside collaborating with our Social Media Editor to produce content across all social media platforms.
The applicant must be consistent in posting various forms of content on TikTok, related to online trends, Manchester university culture, and student news.
It’s required that the TikTok Editor is able to use various editing software such as CapCut and Canva to create TikTok content which may be long news videos, viral trends, and much more!
You must be confident in front of the camera for filming TikTok videos, whether that’s trending sounds and video formats, or serious news uploads.
The editorial team will be running weekly meetings across the academic year, which the successful applicant is expected to attend.
