Meet Luka, the 19-year-old bouncer who stole Kaiser Chiefs’ spotlight at Boardmasters 2025

Yes, the slow dancing security guard taking over your TikTok

I wasn’t at Boardmasters this year but I may as well have been after being on social media this past weekend. Aside from the regular FOMO, there seemed to be more than the usual level of drama – most notably, the viral security guard Luka who is fast becoming the new Alex from Glasto.

Known for its beachy laidback vibes, Boardies pulls in the best dressed, most iconic crowd from all corners of the country, so luckily Luka isn’t the only victim of TikTok thirst traps to come my way. But after he was pulled into a dance with Ricky Wilson from Kaiser Chiefs, he’s lowkey famous now.

So, who is Luka who went viral at Boardmasters 2025?

Luka is a lad from Cornwall who seems to love all things beach, nature and fitness. He also works as a security guard, hence why he ended up all close and personal with Ricky when he took him for a twirl.

He was course on shift during the Kaiser Chiefs’ set, a moment you most likely saw go viral online. During a song, Ricky danced towards the crowd and quickly scooped Luka up in his arms before slow dancing him, all in one fell swoop. The crowd unsurprisingly lapped it up.

Luka’s also worked as security at loads of gigs and events before Boardmasters 2025 between going travelling too.

He actually started his own marketing company

According to his LinkedIn, Luka created his own marketing company, Zentra Marketing, when he was only 16. A world away from security, he set up the company in 2022. He said he “always loved marketing” hence the leap of faith which he made during lockdown.

When he’s not going viral, Luka surfs and plays the piano

I don’t know how he has time to do it all, but Luka has shared videos of him playing the piano, also asking his new followers if he should post more piano content. He’s also a keen surfer, living in Cornwall of course, and suddenly I’m a bit insecure over how little hobbies I have in comparison.

He’s basically an internet celeb now

The clip Luka shared on TikTok has now got over 900k views, with follow ups and memes he made of the interaction blowing up as well. He even posted a video to TikTok where he asked his followers “what do I do now?” with the options being “A: Try and become ‘something’ by posting other stuff (who knows what?)”, “B: Enjoy my 15 minutes of fame then leave it”, or “C: Anything else (comment ideas)”.

Loads of other people have posted their POVs of the dance, or just footage of Luka at work – so much so that people on the app have collectively agreed that they’ve seen more of Luka than actual sets on social media since Friday’s performance.

He’s a bit of a Boardmasters Fesitval veteran so hopefully he’ll be back next year too.
