Heartbreaking: Yasmin says her beloved cat Miaow Miaow died whilst she was on Love Island

To know Yasmin Pettet in Love Island was to know that she had a cat called Miaow Miaow who she loved like a child. One of the key points she was making in the baby challenge was that she didn’t want kids because her cat was her baby, and Yasmin and Jamie spoke a lot during their Love Island journey about how excited they were to meet each other’s cats. Last night, however, Yasmin announced in a truly heartbreaking post that whilst she was filming Love Island her cat Miaow Miaow unfortunately died – and it’s absolutely tragic.

‘RIP to my beautiful baby girl’

Yasmin will have only got her phone back this week, and obviously there’s a lot of pressure to be posting a lot as Islanders get back into the swing of things and deal with their influx of followers. But she has shared she had to deal with this huge personal loss at the same time, and told us all what actually happened.

Yasmin explained “As I’ve spoken about her on the show I’m sure a lot of you will know I have a cat called Miaow Miaow who’s been by my side for 11 years now.

“When I was filming Love Island I had a bad gut feeling something was off and when my mum and sister came into the villa I asked them and still felt like something was off. Rightfully they didn’t tell me because I was still in the villa but after the final I called my sister and she told me that Miaow Miaow had cancer and died whilst I was away filming love island.

Honestly, just absolutely heartbroken for Yasmin. It’s so unfair. RIP Miaow Miaow, our favourite little diva we never got to meet.
