Toni has been on TV before Love Island 2025, and the clips from it are incredible

A few of the Love Island 2025 cast members have been on TV before, and it turns out one of those is American bombshell and now winner, Toni Laites.

Ahead of the villa, Toni revealed a long-term health battle, and this actually meant she was on TV before. Toni has ulcerative colitis. This long-term health condition causes people’s large intestines and rectums to become inflamed. Because of this condition, she was hospitalised ahead of her school prom.

Her hospital made sure she could still make it – and videos from her story are on YouTube. Toni was 17 at the time, and a student at Newington High School. Toni’s mother Leslie was interviewed, and told cameras exactly what had happened.

“My daughter was admitted on Tuesday with a flare-up from ulcerative colitis,” she said in the clip uploaded by Connecticut Children’s Hospital. The footage was taken on the day of what should have been Toni’s senior prom. “She was informed this morning she would not be able to go to the prom,” Toni’s mum explained. “Needless to say, this was quite devastating.”

The clip then skips to three hours later, when Toni is told from her bedside that she will in fact be attending prom. “It was a miracle,” Leslie said, before thanking the doctors and staff at the hospital. “There were tears everywhere.”

The video then shows Toni getting all glammed up. She had her hair curled, her makeup done, and got dressed in a gold, glittery ball gown. Toni then had her catwalk moment, parading down the corridor of the hospital in her dress. “It’s everything to me,” Toni told the cameras.

“A Cinderella Prom for One Patient,” the clip is captioned, and it made it onto NBC News. “I had no hope at the beginning of the day,” Toni said during a news bulletin. She later thanked the staff who made her “special night” happen.
