Influencer breaks spine doing viral ‘stiletto challenge’, and she still posted the video

A mum influencer has broken her spine after taking part in the viral “stiletto challenge” that has taken over TikTok this month.

The trend involves wearing a pair of high heels and balancing on a random object, and it’s inspired by a pose Nicki Minaj does in her “High School” music video.

Mariana Vasiuc, 32, attempted the challenge just eight weeks after she gave birth and fell, leaving her with a compression flexion fracture to her spine.

The beautician from Yekaterinburg, Russia has shockingly posted the video on Instagram, which shows her balancing on a tub of baby milk on her kitchen counter.

In the clip, the woman wearing a black sports bra, leggings and black heels balances for a few seconds while holding someone’s hand, but lets go and immediately falls backwards.

You see her tumble off the side, but the camera quickly turns around as everyone in the room rushes to help her.

As explained by the Cleveland Clinic, a compression fracture is a small break in a vertebra (the bones that make up your spine). They are common and usually caused by physical trauma due to an accident.

“I decided to start blogging, the first content shooting – and here I am leaving the doctor diagnosed with a ‘compression flexion fracture’,” the influencer wrote in the caption.”The irony? Karma? Or just life, which always tests our strength at the most unexpected moment.”

Mariana had to wear a back brace for three months after the accident, but she seems to still be in good spirits, adding: “Mariana is here to talk about life, happy motherhood and motivation to move only forward!”

The stiletto challenge has taken over TikTok, with people balancing in a pair of heels in all kinds of strange and dangerous places. One viral video, which has had over 61 million views, shows a salon worker standing on two nail varnish bottles.

TikTok has actually started putting an age restriction on the Nicki Minaj challenge as it’s so dangerous, with a warning that says: “This post may not be comfortable for some audiences. Log in to make the most of your expeience.”
