Ginny and Georgia creators wrote an alternate ending for season three that changed everything

I need to see this

Whilst a lot of us are still coming to terms with the ending of Ginny and Georgia season three, it’s been revealed the show’s creators wrote an alternate conclusion. It would have changed everything.

We all worried that for a bit, it looked like Georgia Miller was going to end up in jail. God forbid. Throughout season three she was on trial for the murder of Tom, who is actually one of three people she’s killed in her time.

Despite our fears, Georgia was found not guilty. This was after Austin took the stand and told the court he witnessed his father, Gil, killing Tom. We all know he had in fact seen Georgia commit the crime. After this, Georgia was free. But it nearly ended very differently.

In an alternate ending for season three, Georgia went to jail

Ginny and Georgia creator Sarah Lampert and show runner Sarah Glinski have revealed that not only did they consider sending Georgia to jail, but this option was actually written, and then decided against.

“I wrote a scene where she’s in jail and it ends that way. It’s the bad ending,” Sarah Lampert told Entertainment Weekly. “I wrote a scene of Ginny visiting Georgia in jail that isn’t the one that’s in the show, where it’s just a visit. No, Georgia’s in jail now.”

She went on to say that writing the scene was “just to play around” and see how it felt, and they always felt confident things wouldn’t actually end that way for the show.

“I’ll be honest, it was never the plan,” Sarah continued. “The plan was always what the ending was. We came up with that ending in season two, with the Tom of it all and Austin seeing it, and not killing Gil so we could have a fall guy. We had that plan in motion. Ultimately, I think this ending gives us so much more fun story to play with in season four. But that’s not to say she doesn’t end up in jail later. I mean, she’s got multiple notches under her belt.”
