Selena Gomez is getting backlash for her ‘disrespectful’ behaviour at Beyoncé’s tour

Selena Gomez, eh? Love her or hate her, trust the duchess: You’ll be talking about her. Selena Gomez attended the highly acclaimed Cowboy Carter tour to see Beyoncé over the weekend, but as rising discussions swirl in the post Covid days about concert etiquette, Selena Gomez found herself on the receiving end of some backlash regarding her behaviour getting deemed ‘disrespectful’ as she posted on her Instagram story whilst watching Beyoncé.

What Selena did has divided people online, no surprise there since nobody can ever make up there mind on whether they love her or they’re dragging her, but see what you think and if you’d actually do this at a concert most people would give their left leg to be in attendance at.

‘So disrespectful’

When Selena Gomez was watching Beyoncé do her Cowboy Carter tour at the weekend, the ‘disrespectful’ behaviour in question was because she was watching Bey from a box whilst also watching the Knicks V Pacers basketball match on her phone, captioning it “still got my eye on the game.” She is also sat quite a way back from the main view of the show.

Reaction on social media was livid. “Selena Gomez really said Beyoncé’s concert is too boring she really started watching a basketball game” said one, while another said: “All of this for Selena Gomez to end up watching basketball instead of Beyoncé’s show? So disrespectful.”

A third fumed: “Not even a basketballer is watching basketball at a Beyoncé concert.” Another weighed in with “Selena Gomez is at a Beyoncé concert watching a basketball game… Usually I wouldn’t care, but nah the disrespect.”

She wasn’t in her camp alone though, as some did defend Selena. “Y’all drag her for literally anything” was one’s sentiment, while another said: “I live in NYC and plenty of my friends who went to the Cowboy Carter show last night also had the game on their phones… I’m not a basketball fan but apparently it’s been a big deal.”

A third added: “In fairness the last time Knicks won a championship, Beyoncé wasn’t born. So let fans enjoy two things” and another wrote “I also wouldn’t do it at her concert but come on lol. Sometimes if it’s an important game, it’s hard to resist having it on in the background of whatever you’re busy with.”
