EasyJet releases statement after video of angry passenger getting slapped reemerges

‘The toddler tantrum jump I’m sobbing’

We’ve all had a rough time at the airport: Delayed flights, missing bags, and overpriced meal deals. But one man at Manchester Airport took it to a whole new level when he decided to fully lose the plot after being told he couldn’t board his EasyJet flight to Greece. The EasyJet flight video, which was originally filmed last year, has reemerged on TikTok this week. And it’s just as chaotic the second time around. And yes, it really is giving “angry toddler at Tesco checkout” vibes.

The man was booted off before even getting on the plane

The footage shows the passenger going absolutely ballistic during boarding for a flight to Chania, Greece. He’s seen shouting at airport staff, throwing homophobic slurs, jumping up and down like he’s five, and trying to square up to multiple people.

Another angle even shows him getting punched by what looks like an airport worker. Honestly, it’s the sort of scene you’d expect outside a Wetherspoons at midnight, not in the middle of a jet bridge.

People online haven’t held back. One person wrote, “The toddler tantrum jump I’m sobbing.” While another asked, “Are people not scared of the no-fly list anymore?”

EasyJet recently released a statement

In a statement EasyJet confirmed the incident happened last year on 20 August. And police were called before the plane had even taken off.

The airline said, “This flight from Manchester to Chania was attended by police before departure due to a passenger behaving disruptively during boarding. Police attended the aircraft and the customer was not allowed to travel.”

EasyJet also added that its crew is fully trained to handle this kind of mess. And made it clear that the airline won’t tolerate any abuse towards staff or passengers. Which, fair.

People are still baffled and kind of entertained

The original video’s gained over 4.6 million views, with even more coming in from remixes, reaction clips, and different angles. One version shows the guy shoving other passengers aside to get to the worker who swung at him.

Someone even said, “The guy in the high viz was ready to scrap, he’s at the end of his shift and just wants to go home.” Another added, “Please I need to know what was happening, why is he having a full-on tantrum like he got grounded?”
