Donald Trump goes viral for unhinged ramblings about Ozempic and ‘seriously overweight’ friend

Donald Trump has gone viral once again, but at least this time it’s about Ozempic and not because he is cutting the rights of the everyday hardworking people – that role has been filled by Keir Starmer over the last few days.

While announcing an executive order to lower prescription drug prices, Trump spiralled off as he so often does. It wasn’t about immigrants eating dogs or cats (this time), instead choosing to use the moment to shame a “seriously overweight” friend.

“I’ll tell you a story – a friend of mine who’s a businessman, very, very, very top guy. Most of you would have heard of him – highly neurotic, brilliant businessman, seriously overweight,” he said. “And he takes the fat shot drug.”

He then recalled a moment when the friend called him, but rather than just tell reporters the story, the President found himself trailing off on numerous sidebars, such as the unnamed man being “very rich” and how “he used to call me Donald, but now he calls me President, it’s a nice bit of respect.”

After his marbles returned, he continued: “He said ‘I’m in London and I just paid for this damn fat drug I take.’ I said, ‘It’s not working.’ He said, ‘I just paid $88, and in New York, I pay $1,300.’ What the hell is going on?”

Basically, it was just a really long story to essentially say: Drug prices in the US are insane, and I’m putting a stop to it.

Once again, Donald Trump’s ramblings went viral, with people speculating about who the “seriously overweight” friend is.

Though some put out other notable figures, such as Chris Christie, most of the responses centred around the man in question being Elon Musk.

“This is 10000 per cent about Elon,” one person wrote, as another said, “Hold on, fat shaming Elon about to lead to reduced drug prices???????? KEEP EATING ELON.”

“I knew he was getting sick and tired of Musk, but I didn’t think he’d go at him on this,” someone else wrote.

Even Elon Musk’s own AI called him out, with Grok responding to the video, “Trump likely referred to Elon Musk, who has admitted to using weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and fits the description of a ‘brilliant businessman.”

Back in December, Elon Musk outed himself as an Ozempic user when he posted a picture of himself dressed as Santa alongside the caption, “Ozempic Santa.” He later recanted his statements, revealing how he was actually on Mounjaro, “but that doesn’t have the same ring to it.”
