Fallouts and unfollows: Miley Cyrus finally addresses huge family drama in bombshell statement

Over the past year, Miley Cyrus and her family have been at the centre of much discussion regarding the status of their relationships with each other after rumours of big fallouts between the singer and her father and mother Billy Ray and Tish. It’s been messy, with last year a big bombshell leaked conversation emerging which appeared to show Billy Ray Cyrus badmouthing Miley amid a messy divorce from his then wife Firerose. Last week, rumours went wild that Tish Cyrus had unfollowed Miley, and now she’s finally set the record straight on the entire family drama and has spoken out on the entire thing with a hefty statement.

Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray have also spoken on the situation, so here’s everything that’s gone down as Miley Cyrus shut up the rumours once and for all.

Miley’s statement

Miley spoke out after the rumours her mother had unfollowed her, bringing clarification to the family situation everyone’s been wondering about for a while.

“I rarely comment on rumours, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” Miley said about her mom on her Instagram Stories. “She’s my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me-simple, coincidental, and uninteresting.”

She also shed some light on the more difficult relationship she’s had with her dad, explaining “My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.

“Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”

It seems Instagram has been quite glitchy recently with lot of unfollowing circulating, but Tish Cyrus gave clarification on how it was accidental and she didn’t mean to unfollow Miley.

Tish explained on X she “had no idea how it happened but it’s fixed now”, and also said “I would never unfollow Miley, her and I are as close as we’ve always been.”

Sending birthday love to Braison Cyrus a few days back, Billy Ray Cyrus shared a family photo of the family in a sweet moment. He also showed Miley Cyrus so much love during the family drama rumours – before Miley’s statement – with a lovely comment on the release of End of the World – her current lead single.

“I’m so damn proud of both of you,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m actually crying as I write this. Thank God you can’t see me. Have fun now and be happy ! Love Dad.”
