They’re really close off screen, so these are all the real life Young Sheldon friendships

Young Sheldon wrapped up last year after being cancelled, but it still remains insanely popular and people literally cannot get enough of Iain Armitage’s charm.

Not only did he master his role as Sheldon in the TV series, but he became super close with his cast members throughout the seven seasons of the show. Actually, the whole cast seemed to gel so well, according to a number of vibey behind the scenes pics from filming.

So, these are all the real life friendships between the Young Sheldon cast.

Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord

It would be odd if Iain and Raegan weren’t close, playing siblings on the show. After playing siblings for seven years on the show, they’ve kind of developed a bit of a brother/sister relationship in real life too. Both Iain and Raegan enjoy reading, singing, music, and dance, with Raegan one mentioning that they “fight, and then we are back to being friends.” In one post of them both she teased Iain in the caption, writing: “You might be taller but I will always be older.”

They literally grew up together, so it would be weird for them to be anything less.

Raegan and everyone, actually

You only need to glance at Raegan’s Instagram to see how close she is with the entire cast. She frequently shares herself reuniting with the cast, and is always hugging someone or other. Raegan clearly became super close and made so many Young Sheldon friendships over the course of filming.

Raegan seems especially close with Montana Jordan, even calling herself the auntie of his little girl. The pair have shared loads of photos together, arguably seeming closer than her and Iain despite the bigger age gap. She often shares happy birthday messages and throwback pictures of them both and it’s sweet to see how close they still are today.

Iain and Annie Potts are adorable

Annie Potts who plays Mee Maw previously expressed a special fondness for Iain, referring to him like her son. Not only is she proud of his talent, but even expressed how much she enjoyed the opportunity to have a “little boy in my life again” throughout filming of the show after previously raising sons of her own. 

Iain is even good friends with Jim Parsons

Both playing Sheldon in Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory, Iain and Jim are kind of besties. They meet quite regularly and always snap a selfie to share with fans of both shows, with Iain even going to support Jim in a Broadway show. Their bond is one of the Young Sheldon friendships that wasn’t destined to succeed as they don’t share scenes, but obviously the pair have a lot in common so it’s no shock that they grew close.

They’ve even made a few TikToks together, so you know the friendship’s real.

Lance Barber is like a real dad to his on screen kids

Playing George Cooper, Lance bonded with all of his on screen kids during filming of the show. His relationships with the younger cast are very wholesome and he even joined Raegan and Zoe Perry in the 2023 Writers Guild of America strikes where they supported each other on the picket lines.

Zoe and Iain spend time together too

Referring to her as his “TV mama”, Iain and Zoe have got together a lot outside of the show, even visiting the White House together at Christmas. They gel like real life long friends and love any excuse to get together.
