Paul Antoine’s very strange reasons for punching a door on MAFS Australia

One of the most memorable (if not the most memorable?) moments of MAFS Australia 2025 was when the groom Paul Antoine punched a door. Now, Paul has finally opened up about this moment. He outlined some of the reasons why he punched the door and I’m very confused.

Here’s a refresher: Paul, Carina, Jeff and Rhi went on a big night out and got a taxi home together. A song came on the radio, and Carina commented about sleeping with a very famous rapper. Paul reacted to this… by punching a door.

Paul told the Daily Mail Australia more about the lead-up to the incident. He said: “‘I was mentally drained. We were filming 12 to 14 hours a day, and I was running on five hours of sleep. I just snapped.”

Apparently Paul didn’t like that Carina’s apologies afterwards seemed “deflective”. He said: “It felt like she was bragging. It confused me. In her confession letter, she was ashamed of her past, and now it seemed like she was owning it proudly in front of everyone.”

Paul said he instantly regretted punching the door. He said: “It was unacceptable. I walked out of the room, and I lost control. The moment it happened, I instantly felt shame. I felt disgusted.

“They brought me into a private room the next day. I couldn’t stop crying. I told them, ‘If you need to kick me off, I understand.’ But they gave me another chance. I was so grateful — I wanted to make things right and show that wasn’t who I am.”

He continued, ” The judgment from others was hard to cope with.”
