All the very many desperate attempts at fame the MAFS Australia 2025 cast have had

Eight have been on TV before, and some more than once

It would seem a lot of the MAFS Australia 2025 cast have had attempts at fame before the experiment. For most of them, and I mean most, this wasn’t their first time on TV. And the experts act surprised when we think they’re all there for the wrong reasons?!

A whole bunch of the brides and grooms this year have been trying to crack it for years. They’ve been applying for reality TV with their lives, and taking any gig they can. Honestly, you have to respect the grind.

Here are all the attempts at fame made by the cast of MAFS Australia 2025. Be prepared, there are lots!

Carina has been on TV lots of times before

Carina has really tried her hand before MAFS. She’s no stranger to TV at all. She been in TV adverts, and also was on Beyond Tools – showing her family business. She’s also been in miniseries The Claremont Murders and appeared as an extra in the MTV reality show, Love & Hip Hop.

On top of her vast TV portfolio, Carina featured in the music video for Sidhu Bhammeala’s track Boss in 2021.

She’s also an influencer, and wants to become a TV presenter

As well as her previous TV stints, Carina was an influencer before the show, with aspirations of becoming a TV presenter. She has a degree in broadcast journalism, and a website where she describes herself as “just a girl from Western Australia with ambition and dreams to excel in the entertainment world”.

According to Yahoo, Carina has interned with TV channels before, and auditioned to be the host of E! News Australia in 2014. Are we spotting a motive here?

Paul was on The Real Love Boat

Carina may have met her match with Paul, because he has a reality TV past, too! Before MAFS, in 2022, he was on The Real Love BoatIt was another dating show, and Paul declared he was there to find his “perfect partner”. He didn’t, but he did find a woman who enjoyed him speaking French to her.

Sierah was on The Bachelor

It turns out MAFS Australia wasn’t the first time Sierah Swepstone has been on reality TV – she was on The Bachelor before. She was a contestant on Jimmy Nicholson’s season, in 2021. She finished in 11th place, and attended four group dates. She was sent home in episode eight. Sierah might not have found love, but her appearance was definitely memorable.

In an interview following The Bachelor, Sierah spilled all about her time on the show. “I’m pretty salty and I feel like I’ve got a really big ego so obviously not getting a rose when I got extra time was a bit of salt in the wound,” she said.

She was also asked if she’d do reality TV again, and said: “If I have another chance to do a reality TV experience I know it will be a much better experience because I’ll be able to relax and enjoy myself and have confidence that being me is the best thing about me and I should just enjoy it.”

Jeff has tried his hand at being an actor, on Neighbours!

I didn’t really expect it from Jeff, but he’s tried his hand at being an actor before! Jeff appeared in three episodes of Neighbours in 2017. He played police officer Kurt Bridges.

Ryan has also had his fair share of acting gigs

When Ryan was cast for MAFS, people were quick to find his acting history, and saw he’d been in a number of TV shows and films before. Before his time on the experiment, Ryan had roles in Neighbours and NCIS: Sydney. Plus, he was spotted filming for an actual Hollywood movie. Daily Mail Australia obtained pictures of the MAFS groom on the set, at the same time the show was airing.

Just to top this off, people spotted him in the background of a new Nicole Kidman show, also when MAFS was on. Ryan was a police officer in new BINGE original series, The Last Anniversary.

Just to make matters worse, there’s also a resurfaced clip of Ryan on reality TV before doing the rounds. Ryan was on Aussie show, Beauty and The Geek. The TikTok is captioned: “Do I need glasses or is that Ryan?”.

The comments are filled with paid actor claims. “Yes, he is an actor,” one person said. “Oh I have HEARD they’ve been recycling actors on these shows,” another said.

Teejay was on Big Brother

The experiment also wasn’t Teejay’s first time on reality TV. He appeared on Big Brother Australia in 2023. During his time in the house, he had a brief romance with another housemate, but that all quickly ended after filming wrapped. He was in the house for 15 days, and evicted in ninth place. That was just enough time for him to squeeze in an x-rated comment to his fellow cast members, about his huge body count. Of course!

Tim was apparently ‘desperate’ to get on MAFS, and nearly went on The Bachelor

Remember Tim? I feel like I’ve tried to block him out of my mind. Just after he left, it was claimed Tim was “desperate” to be on the show. He’s said to have been trying to get his spot on MAFS for years. Just to throw it all away? What a waste!

A casting producer has claimed he applied multiple times in the years leading up to his 2025 casting. Tim is said to have spent the last three years trying to land a spot on the show. They claim he’d tried for years to get on the show, and was “presumably an avid viewer”. Because of this, producers are said to be quite confused about how he behaved during the experiment.

But that’s not all. Tim is also believed to have applied for The Bachelor and The Bachelorette before. Plus, he was reportedly caught bragging to his MAFS co-stars he was “almost cast” in the shows.

Jacqui was pretty adamant she was Miss New Zealand, but that wasn’t exactly true

At the start of the series, Jacqui said many many times that she was Miss NZ. “I used to be a model and was even Miss New Zealand,” she boasted in her introduction tape before listing her long list of hobbies and talents. But guys, that’s not even true.

She actually represented the country in a random competition called Miss Yacht International. It’s not linked to the real Miss Universe competitions in any way.

Morena was spotted in the audience of Deal or No Deal

Morena had a brief TV cameo in the audience of a Deal or No Deal episode with her son. She was seated right behind the number 16 briefcase. Honestly, love this for her.

Jamie has been on TV before, but we’ll let her off for this one

It feels harsh to put Jamie amongst all the other MAFS Australia 2025 cast attempts at fame, but it can’t not be mentioned that she’s been on TV before. She definitely wasn’t trying to get famous though, that’s for sure.

Jamie was interviewed on Nine News after a robbery happened at her workplace, and now pictures from the broadcast have resurfaced. People have claimed they are from roughly eight or nine years ago. Jamie worked as a store manager at the time.
