Jacqui bragged about being ‘Miss New Zealand’ on MAFS Australia, but it’s not even true!

Let’s expose her fake claim to fame

One of the first things Jacqui mentioned on MAFS Australia was that she was once Miss New Zealand, but she doesn’t actually hold the title at all!

“I used to be a model and was even Miss New Zealand,” she boasted in her introduction tape before listing her long list of hobbies and talents.

However, the 29-year-old Consultant wasn’t ever Miss New Zealand, she represented the country in a random competition called Miss Yacht International.

If you’re not clued up in the whole beauty pageant world, Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth are the big four.

When you win one of those for your country, that’s a pretty big deal and you can call yourself Miss Brazil or Miss USA for example.

Now, back to Jacqui. The MAFS bride didn’t enter any of these major beauty pageants, she was part of Miss Yacht International in 2012.

The beauty pageant for yacht models was founded by a Chinese company and held in Sanya, China in 2011 and 2012 but was cancelled after just two years.

It’s not linked to the real Miss Universe competitions in any way and doesn’t have any credibility at all.

“Miss Yacht Model International is a pageant which combines a yachting lifestyle with international beauties and focuses on spreading this lifestyle to the rest of the world,” the website says.

By the sounds of it, they were hoping it would take off and become a “world class pageant,” but it never did.

A really old picture on Jacqui’s Instagram shows her wearing a “New Zealand” sash, so she did enter the competition when she was 16.

However, she didn’t win the pageant or even come close. The winner was Macedonia, followed by runners-up Serbia and Belarus.

There’s no evidence that there was any sort of criteria to enter either. Miss Yacht International is just a random pageant that anyone could join.

To call herself Miss New Zealand on national TV is absolutely crazy! The real Miss New Zealand 2012, Talia Bennett, would be mortified.
