Um, people have noticed a Love Is Blind ‘lie’ that suggests Monica’s sister was right about Joey

Joey Leville and Monica Danús are in the most stable relationship on Love Is Blind season eight, but following a tense discussion with Monica’s sister Nicolle, cracks are starting to show.

During episode eight of Love Is Blind, Joey was introduced to Monica’s family. All of them seemed to like his energy, but Monica’s sister Nicolle had some reservations and claimed Joey was almost calculating with his words like a “really good actor.” Practically no one bought into her story.

But now, a person on Reddit has picked up on something many of us missed during an earlier episode and it kinda supports Nicolle’s argument that Joey knows all the right things to say.

Love Is Blind’s Joey claims to be left-handed

During episode seven when the couples were enjoying their vacations in Honduras, Joey and Monica sat down for dinner on the beach. It was here they exchanged some fun facts about one another, including Joey being left-handed, but Reddit has since called him out.

The theory was put forward by one person who wrote: “Okay, so I noticed something very minute and ridiculous as I was watching the next set of episodes for season eight of LIB (eps seven – nine). During their dinner date on the beach in Honduras, Joey and Monica are getting to know each other better and with that comes Joey telling Monica that he is left-handed. However, as the date went on I couldn’t help but notice that Joey was exhibiting many signs of right-handedness.”

When it came to the so-called “evidence”, the internet sleuth spied Joey eating and drinking using his right hand. Though not always consistent, some surveys suggest that when using a single utensil, 95 per cent of left-handed people use it in their left hand.

Their third piece of evidence, which they claimed was their “smoking gun”, was the fact that Joey had his watch in his left hand. Typically, people strap their watches to their less dominant hand, which in Joey’s case SHOULD be his right.

“Now, I could totally see production not wanting his arm in the way of their meal during the shot of the date (RE: not feeding cast member allegations from season six or whatever), but that doesn’t feel like a good enough reason for all three of these right-handed habits to be coming through!! Maybe he is ambidextrous, but tbh I think he just lied about something silly. Why? Idk. Anyway, just wanted to share and see if anyone had additional thoughts,” the Redditor added.

It seems like a stupid thing to lie about, though it does add some weight to Monica’s sister’s earlier comments.

Not everyone was totally convinced

Despite the explanation and the screenshots that confirmed Joey predominantly uses his right hand, not everyone in the Reddit comments was completely convinced.

As one person said: “I feel like a lot of left-handed people do things ‘the right-handed way; because society is so right-hand dominant, they may have just learned to do it those ways because that’s how it gets taught often.”

“My mom and sister are left handed but do some things with right – somewhat ambidextrous,” another said.

Do I think Joey’s an evil genius manipulating Monica with fabricated left-hand stories? Absolutely not. Is it enjoyable to overanalyse everything on Love Is Blind? Most definitely.
