Belle Gibson is apparently living a whole second life now with new name and normal day job

She’s now called… Mel

Right now, the life of influencer scammer Belle Gibson is hot topic. The Australian influencer lied about having cancer, and used this to promote her wellness brand and make money.

In the last month, Netflix has released Apple Cider Vinegar. The dramatised series shared all of Belle Gibson’s lies. Following this, Netflix released a true crime documentary version of the case, called The Search For Instagram’s Worst Con Artist. This investigates Belle Gibson’s many claims, as well as her rise and fall from the spotlight.

So, whilst her story has been spoken about more and more, people have been wondering about the life Belle Gibson is living now. Whilst she never faced jail time for what she did, it has been claimed she’s completely restarted her life. After her fraud was exposed in 2015, Belle Gibson briefly went off grid. But since then, more about her life now has become clear.

In 2020, it was reported Belle Gibson had been adopted into Ethiopia’s Oromo community in Melbourne. It looks as though Gibson *was* briefly part of the community, and was actually rejected once they learned of who she was. Now, things have completely changed.

Belle Gibson has changed her name now, and apparently lives a totally different life

It’s all change in Belle Gibson’s life now. Woman’s Day has claimed Belle Gibson was most recently working at a deli counter inside a supermarket and went by the name of Mel. Yes, Mel Gibson.

The magazine spoke to a man who said he worked alongside Belle at the store. He called her “sweet” and said she would often advise customers to turn vegetarian.

“I didn’t recognise her until the last week of me working there,” he said. “I said, ‘Do you remember Belle Gibson and you look like her.’ Her whole face just dropped and her calm demeanour changed.  She didn’t say yes, she didn’t say no, she just kind of freaked out a little bit.”  He said Belle – or Mel – was “very spiritual” and “customers loved her”.
