Exclusive: MAFS UK’s Erica responds after Sacha claims she was ‘laughing’ at her religion

The drama between MAFS UK stars Erica and Sasha is getting beefy on social media after the reunion, with the two of them posting on their Instagram story about one another following an unfollowing and Sacha saying that she felt like Erica and her podcast co-host Meryl were laughing about her religion. In the You & Me podcast, which MAFS UK 2023 star Erica runs with The Traitors winner Meryl – the two are discussing Sacha and the MAFS reunion when there is a titter – but Erica tells us it’s a misunderstanding.

In the clip, Erica says “obviously she’s found God and stuff” and Meryl can be heard laughing and repeating what Erica said – to which Erica replies “she has!”.

Sacha posted this clip and said on her story about Erica and Meryl’s MAFS reunion episode “Laughing at my religion? Why would they leave this in the edit? Doesn’t make the podcast look very cute. Had loads of messages about this, way to offend a whole community. Really gunning for me.”

Reaching out to Erica about this directly, she exclusively  told The Tab “Absolutely NO ONE laughed at her or anyone’s religion. Watching the pod back we can see how it sort of looks as if Meryl laughs at me saying ‘she got up before me and did a speech about how she found God and stuff’  – ultimately Meryl laughed at my wording of ‘God and stuff.’

“Meryl is religious and believes in God herself so why would she laugh about that? And I would never judge or mock anyone’s faith and beliefs as I have a good few religious friends. She is simply blowing this way out of proportion and what she’s doing is actually extremely damaging and nasty.

“I’m actually quite shocked someone who preaches the way she does is behaving like this knowing the hate, abuse and unnecessary drama it’s going to send to my door. But moral of the story, there was absolutely no judgement, her accusations are all completely false and her behaviour is disgusting.”

Sacha wrote on her Instagram feed: “Choosing to focus on the positive today after a certain 2023 cast member decided to attack me on a poddy for no reason. Because what truly matters is this! I’m so proud that speaking of Jesus made the edit. I was so chuffed with last nights ep that I haven’t let any bullying from cast ruin it today. Glory to God 🙏🏼 We did it! You did it! Forever a vessel for your word.”

Sacha told The Tab “The accusations she made on her podcast are not true and I still haven’t received an apology. I haven’t encouraged hate on her, just debunked her lies.

“She’s going on about how I’ve encouraged hate and lied about her but I think she’s just deflecting instead of accepting accountability.”

She also put on her story to her followers: “Guys as much as I know you want to have my back I don’t condone hate or aggressive behaviour towards anyone. We’re all peace and love around here. Even when it’s hard. The posts shared yesterday were to prove my innocence against lies as I feel that’s necessary.

“Any threats that have been made have been without my consent and knowledge. Love you guys but let’s not give them what they want – to spread more things about me. It’s clearly became about trying to defame my character.

Shame she couldn’t just apologise and is looking for things to use against me instead.”
