The producer has revealed why Love Is Blind is using normal songs for the first time ever

They’ve really upped the music budget

Love Is Blind has returned to Netflix for season eight and there’s one thing that’s really different this time around – the music.

The reality show always used to use random unknown pop tracks in the scene transitions, but now it’s actual mainstream songs that we all know and love.

From Can’t Fight This Feeling to Birds of a Feather, there are so many massive hits – but why have they changed it after eight whole seasons?!

Well, the creator and producer Chris Coelen has revealed they revamped the soundtrack for the fifth anniversary to celebrate and enhance the show’s main theme: love!

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “It’s a show about love, and the music is a big part of the show. We felt that we should use some of the great love songs.”

“It’s certainly by no means a complete list of great love songs, but we felt like it was a really great way to just sell love,” he continued.

“It feels like just a cool way to celebrate everything that the show is about with some of the greatest love songs through the years.”

The producer said they have specifically chosen songs and put them in the “right moment” to add a “whole other level to the experience of enjoying the show”.

The Love Is Blind reunion is set to feature the show’s first-ever live performance too, although they’re keeping who it is a secret for now.

“During the reunion, we’re going to have our first-ever musical performance, which is going to be super exciting,” Coelen added.

“The idea of music and love and celebration continues to be a big theme for us throughout the season, and hopefully for seasons to come.”
