Elma and Sammy FINALLY address whether they were secretly dating before Love Island All Stars

Sammy Root and Elma Pazar have finally addressed the scandalous rumour they were secretly dating before Love Island All Stars in the hopes of winning the prize money and being crowned the winners.

Early on in All Stars season two, Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore were forced to contend with rumours that they’d faked their breakup for the inevitable recoupling on the show. Soon enough, people were saying the exact same thing about Elma and Sammy.

“Elma and Sammy were for sure dating before entering the villa. It all makes sense,” one person said on Reddit as another argued, “I 100 per cent believe this. Her repeatedly calling him her ‘fella’.”

Most of the rumours hinged on Sammy and Elma’s time on Towie, with people also noticing cute emoji exchanges on Instagram that seemed to suggest they were more than friends. But now, in a post-exit interview, Elma and Sammy have opened up about the speculation.

Sammy and Elma placed fifth in the competition, and though people theorised they had a romantic history before the show, they denied such claims in their exit interview.

“Don’t get me wrong, I definitely tried my best but she kept batting me away,” Sammy explained. “Me and Elma have never even kissed until the terrace.”

On that kiss specifically, Elma said it was “100 per cent” worth the wait because she “wanted it from the minute he walked in.” Ironically, that line would suggest they did have a romantic connection before the show.

Despite the clear attraction between the two Islanders, Elma guessed that it never came to be in the real world because there was so much “background noise” to contend with.

“I got to know Sammy for Sammy. I never watched Sammy’s series, so I never had any idea about this thing of ‘What he was like before’. But I’m glad I didn’t because it was like a blank canvas,” she said.

Sammy seemed to agree, adding: “It gave us the running start that we needed. We were never going to experience this on this level on the outside. As soon as we did, we knew it was every bit as good as we thought it would be.”

Well, that settles that matter. Now we just need to know if Grace really did send those messages.
