There is a NEW student discount card in the toon?!

GoLocal is the newest discount card for students in the toon – but with the added bonus of supporting local, independent businesses in Jesmond.

From the creators of Hush (a student dating app), GoLocal have convinced a handful of Jesmond businesses to offer student discounts through a digital membership card. Businesses include student hot spots such as Sohe, Dene’s Deli, Aidan’s Kitchen and Birria Bella.

All it takes is going in and scanning your digital card, completely free for all students in Newcastle. Did Christmas come late?

Oscar Slacke, 25 and former Newcastle University student, commented to the Tab: “GoLocal is all about giving students access to exclusive discounts at the independent spots they actually love for free. We launched just over a week ago and the response has been incredible with hundreds of of sign ups in the first two hours.”

“The goal is to help students save money while supporting local businesses, especially during quieter hours. We’re excited to keep growing in Newcastle and beyond.”
