Wait, why is Ron Hall on All Stars after vowing twice to ‘never appear’ in the villa again
Another case of clout-induced Love Island amnesia
In Sunday night’s instalment of Love Island All Stars, Ron Hall entered the villa for another stab at love after earlier vowing to “never do a dating show again” following his split from Lana Jenkins.
Ron first graced our screens in 2023 as a member of Love Island’s season nine cast with Tom Clare, Sanam Harrinanan, Jessie Wynter, and Will Young. After a tumultuous time in the villa with Lana, the two continued their relationship in the real world until their eventual breakup just three months later.
Now, Ron is back after seemingly forgetting his earlier statement. Let’s remind him.
Ron Hall blamed Love Island for his failed relationship
Cast your mind back to 2023. Olivia Hawkins was her usual brand of messy, Casey was being an unapologetic f**k boy, and Will was fighting off gay rumours like flies on his farm. You might also remember that Lana and Ron’s relationship was far from stable, but it seems Ron has forgotten that crucial detail and his earlier definitive statement about rejecting future dating show appearances.
Speaking to The Sun last year, he explained that he would never sign up for a dating show again because it contributed to his inevitable split from Lana.
“I will never do a dating show again, I will never have a relationship in the public eye again because I think it ruins it,” he said. “It played a part in mine and Lana’s relationship.”
At the time, Ron further claimed the “forced” nature of such shows was the main issue. He must have had a change of heart – or a dwindling bank account – to make such a dramatic U-turn in just one year.

“I think relationship programmes are quite forced and it doesn’t happen naturally, it’s great and it works. It worked for me because I didn’t expect to fall in love. But I think sometimes it can play with people’s feelings too much,” he added.
Ron made the same statement days before appearing in the villa
Is Ron Hall a goldish? Maybe, because during a recent episode of his I’m Right, He’s Wrong podcast, he shared his hesitance about the All Stars season with former Islander Tanyel Revan.
“I’ve got mixed feelings about it. So my boy, Luca, is in there, buzzing, absolutely buzzing, for him to be in there, I think he’ll smash it,” he said.
“You’ve got a very like… you’ve got a much older cast. People are more mature. We’re talking mid 30s here. Like Scott is 36 Marcel is probably like, mid 30s, like we’re talking mature.”
Doubling down on his above statements, Ron added: “You’ve probably had a couple relationship out of that that were absolutely legit, but you never really know whether or not people going on there for that.”
Shockingly, he’s not the only former Islander to have rejected the idea of an appearance only to appear on our TV screens once again. While competing in the Big Brother house, Ekin-Su made similar statements, and yet, there she is loud and proud every night at 9 pm.
It’s almost like they’re not in there for love at all. Who could’ve guessed?
