Two awful reasons the VIPs are the scariest part of Squid Game – and the real villains

Everyone is debating who the biggest villain is in Squid Game. Is it the Front Man? Detective Jun-ho? Or even the suspicious boat captain?

They certainly all play their part, but many think the real villains are the VIPs, who we didn’t actually see in season two.

The VIPs are a group of extremely rich men who observe the Squid Games for entertainment and bet on who they think will win.

They all wear gold masks resembling various animals to disguise their appearance, but why are they the most terrifying part of the show?!

Well, the VIPs were originally clients of Oh Il-nam, the old guy who was uncovered to be behind the games in season one, at his financial firm.

Bored with their lives, they decided to group their money together and establish the Squid Games as a way of entertaining themselves.

They are the ones who launched the games, enjoy them, and allow them to go ahead, which is the first thing that makes them so scary.

The VIPs are a series of very corrupt, evil men who love watching people suffer and die, and they are unlikely to back down for anything.

Even if Gi-hun was able to get rid of the Front Man and take down the games, the VIPs would still be a huge issue.

Their leader Oh Il-nam died from Cancer in season one, so they are the only ones left who originally started the games, making them the real leaders.
