All the celebs forced to evacuate Pacific Palisades wildfire and what they’ve said about the blaze

30,000 people have been issued a mandatory evacuation order, with more expected to follow

Los Angeles, California, is battling another wildfire as celebrities and citizens in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood are forced to flee their homes.

Videos flooding TikTok and Twitter show the ongoing wildfire which is said to be burning through a staggering five football fields a minute. At least 30,000 residents are now under a mandatory evacuation order, with surrounding neighbourhoods in Malibu and Calabasas also expected to evacuate as the fire continues to blaze.

“The Palisades Fire is burning near Palisades Drive. Those nearby should get set for a potential wildfire evacuation by gathering supplies and loved ones,” the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.

As people abandon their homes, vehicles, and even pets, here are the celebrities who live in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.

Ben Affleck is just one of the celebrities living in the Pacific Palisades area

Following his separation from Jennifer Lopez earlier this year, Ben Affleck purchased a $20.5 million bachelor pad in the heart of the community. The neighbourhood also features the homes of his fellow movie stars Chris Pratt and Reese Witherspoon.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson also own a property in the area, a $26million mansion with four bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a range of lavish amenities. Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry, who purchased their mansion in 2023, are also neighbours with celebs such as Adam Sandler, Jhene Aiko, Kawhi Leonard, and Eugene Levy.

Heidi and Spencer Pratt, former stars of The Hills, were forced to evacuate after their Pacific Palisades mansion burned down in the fires. Spencer posted videos to his Instagram story that showed the billowing black smoke as they attempted to douse the flames with water.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, both Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Aniston also own a home in the Pacific Palisades area though it’s not immediately clear whether they have been affected. All those above have presumably evacuated with the mandatory order.

The number of affected celebrities is expected to grow as the fire spreads, with surrounding areas housing huge names such as The Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, Jessica Simpson, Travis Barker, and Drake.

What have the celebs said about the California wildfire?

Oscar-nominated actor James Woods posted a statement on Twitter after evacuating, explaining: “All the smoke detectors are going off in our house and transmitting to our iPhones. I couldn’t believe our lovely little home in the hills held on this long. It feels like losing a loved one.”

Speaking to the LA Times, Eugene Levy said: “The smoke looked pretty black and intense of Temescal Canyon. I couldn’t see any flames, but the smoke was very dark.”

Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamil posted regular updates to his Instagram, noting that they were “fleeing for our lives” when they were evacuated at 7 pm on Tuesday.

Police Academy star Steve Guttenberg told KTLA 5: “What’s happening is people take their keys with them as if they’re in a parking lot. This is not a parking lot. We really need people to move their cars. If you leave your car behind, leave the key in there so a guy like me can move your car so that these fire trucks can get up there.”

After safely vacating the area, Travis Barker’s kid Alabama Luella Barker said on Instagram: “Just evacuated from my home due to wildfires in Los Angeles, please be safe! They are saying the fires are spreading football field amounts in seconds.”
