When you’re not distracted by the plot holes, or trying to come to terms with the wild stories – the houses in Missing You on Netflix are incredible.

Detective Kat Donovan lives in a gorgeous pad in Manchester, where the majority of the show was set. And then we get to visit the new boy in the office’s house – and it’s even more impressive. I need to know what kind of money police in Manchester are getting paid to afford this.

Here’s a rundown of the incredible houses used as filming locations in Missing You on Netflix. Plus, a little look at what they’re like in real life.

Kat’s apartment

Did anyone else’s jaw drop to the floor the first time we saw Kat’s apartment? It’s beyond huge, super modern and looks like something out of a contemporary interiors coffee table magazine. In the show, we later learn she can afford it because it was given to her by her dad. Obviously!

Kat’s flat is in Manchester city centre in real life. It’s near Deansgate Station, on a road called Little Peter Street. According to SecretManchester, her home is inside the historic Knott Mill, which was famously home to “Mr Manchester”, Tony Wilson. It’s a loft apartment, which was designed by Ben Kelly.

I thought Charlie was pretty junior? The tech wizz’s house really does say different. We first visited his not-so-humble abode in episode three, when Kat went to visit.

In real life, the house is a large and modern home in Manchester, roughly 30 minutes away from the centre. It has a minimalist style open plan kitchen and dining area and four bedrooms. The outside has a striking pointed design, and inside the design is just as impressive, too.

As well as what we see in Missing You, it has a gorgeous garden seating area, and throughout the interior uses natural materials. There are two bathrooms, and enough space for six cars on the driveway.
