Here’s everywhere you should go in Cardiff this month if you’re participating in Veganuary

With spots as close as the Students’ Union, being a vegan just got easier

Had too much turkey over the festive period? Or fancy experimenting with the vegan lifestyle but don’t know where to start? Well, don’t worry, we’ve found all of the best spots in Cardiff to try this Veganuary.

Vegan Filth

If you’re concerned about how to cope with not having fast food after a night out, don’t worry because you can now get vegan junk food right in the SU. Think burgers, loaded fries, thick shakes, churros – what else could you want? Vegan Filth is also available on Uber Eats, so it’s perfect for when you are too hungover to cook.

To celebrate Veganuary, they’re hosting weekly pop-ups in collaboration with The Thirsty Elephant, where there will be new weekly menus both to enjoy in their SU space, as well as at The Thirsty Elephant, which is based in Cowbridge. You can find all the information on their Instagram.

Luna’s Vegan Corner

This spot offers an entirely vegan menu, making it the perfect place to try out new foods this Veganuary. Based on Wellfield Road in Roath, this restaurant is the ideal place to catch up with friends or even cure a hangover.

They offer a wide range of food, such as sandwiches, brunch items, afternoon tea, burgers, and even roast dinners on a Sunday.

Going vegan doesn’t not mean missing out with vegan restaurants like this one.

Oat and Bean

Looking for a vegan cafe? Look no further. This fully vegan coffee shop can be found on Park Place, just down from the SU, and offers many yummy treats such as cakes and pastries. They also offer an extensive drink menu, from coffees to smoothies, they have a drink for everyone to try out this Veganuary.

Oat and Bean is the perfect study spot or place to catch up with friends whilst enjoying your favourite things, just made vegan.

Kiwi Bowls

Located in Castle Arcade, this place makes the most delicious smoothie and açai bowls.

They offer lots of vegan options by adding alternative milk into their bowls, so you don’t have to miss out on delicious, healthy and trendy places to eat out during Veganuary. Kiwi Bowl also offers 10 per cent off for students when you show your student ID or UNiDAYS account, so eating out doesn’t have to break the bank the month of January.
