From boybands to Benidorm: Here’s where you’ve seen Netflix’s Missing You cast before
The star-studded cast is chock-full of British acting icons
Released on New Year’s Day, Harlan Coben’s lastest Netflix series, Missing You, has us all on the edge of our seats.
The five episode limited series follows DI Kat Donovan as she searches for answers after her ex-fiancé’s disappearance and her father’s murder.
The adaptation is chock-full of familiar actors which leaves you thinking you know the faces, without being able to put your finger on where you’ve seen them before.
But, fear not, as we’ve compiled a list of the star-studded Netflix Missing You cast and where you’re bound to have seen them on your screens before.
Rosalind Eleazar – DI Kat Donovan
Kat, the series’ protagonist is a detective inspector working in the missing persons department, an area she has personal experience with after her fiancé, Josh, disappeared 11 years ago.
She decides she’s now ready to start dating again, but she sees Josh on a dating app, leading her to bring up questions about what really happened more than a decade ago.
Kat is played by Rosalind Eleazar who you may recognise from The Personal History of David Copperfield, which also featured Dev Patel, or Slow Horses, a British spy thriller series which she stars in alongside Gary Oldman.
Richard Armitage – DCI Ellis Stagger
It wouldn’t be a Harlan Coben Netflix series without Richard Armitage.
In Missing You, Richard plays Detective Chief Inspector Ellis Stagger, who used to work with Kat’s dad, but now works with her.
Ellis is seen as a mentor to Kat, helping her through her grief, but not all is as it seems.
Most Read
You of course recognise Richard from previous Harlan Coben adaptions such as Fool Me Once and The Stranger. However, Richard is a TV and film veteran having been in The Hobbit trilogy, Ocean’s 8, Captain America: The First Avenger, and BBC’s Robin Hood.
Lenny Henry – DS Clint Donovan
A stellar addition to the Netflix Missing You cast. Lenny is no stranger to crime dramas, and this time he’s back as Kat’s dad. Clint was killed 11 years ago in a professional hit, and whilst the murderer is behind bars, Kat is left wondering who the mastermind behind the crime is.
As well as being an actor in shows such as Broadchurch and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Lenny had his own programme aptly called The Lenny Henry Show which ran for just over 20 years.
Furthermore, this Christmas, he starred in Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
Lenny is also one of the founders of Comic Relief, and has featured in Premier Inn adverts for a number of years.
GK Barry – Vanessa
I think we were all shocked to see everyone’s favourite podcaster and 2024 camp mate as part of the Netflix Missing You cast.
GK Barry plays Vanessa, who has some sort of connection to missing Rishi Maghari.
GK is most well-know for her podcast, Saving Grace, as well as starring on the latest season of I’m A Celeb.
Matt Willis – Darryl
Whilst not a main character, Matt has a small role as Darryl. Featuring in the first episode, viewers may recognise him from his days in Busted, a British pop-rock band.
Busted went on to have four number one singles in the UK, won two Brit Awards and sold over five million records worldwide.
He has also starred in I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, and Love Is Blind UK, which he presents alongside his wife, Emma Willis.
Steve Pemberton – Titus Monroe
Steve stars as Titus who lives in a rural farmhouse raising show dogs. However, all is not as it seems as he has some secrets of his own.
Steve is a great addition to the Netflix Missing You cast as he’s an incredibly successful and well-known British TV star. He’s probably best know for his role as Mick in Benidorm, but chances are you’ll have seen him in a host of other shows such as Happy Valley, Whitechapel and Killing Eve.
He has also been in a number of films like Lassie, Mr Bean’s Holiday, and Better Man, which is based on Robbie Williams’ life.
Ashley Walters – Josh Buchanan
Ashley plays Kat’s missing ex-fiancé and journalist, Josh, who disappeared shortly after his soon-to-be father in law’s death. However, after Kat sees him on a dating app, viewers are left questioning why he disappeared and if the former couple can reconnect.
Ashley is most famous for his role in Top Boy in which he plays Dushane. He has also featured in Anuvahood and Bulletproof.
However, he originally shot to fame as part of So Solid Crew, who rose to the top of the charts with their infamous garage single, 21 Seconds.
Jessica Plummer – Stacey Embalo
Stacey is one of Kat’s best friends who also works as a private investigator. She helps people find missing loved ones or catching out cheating spouses, but Stacey has a secret of her own to hide.
Jessica started out in the industry as a singer in the girl group Neon Jungle, whose second single, Braveheart, went to number two in the UK.
She then featured in Eastenders as Chantelle Atkins, as well as How to Talk to Girls at Parties, alongside Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning.
Jessica was also on season 20 of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, but left after being the sixth contestant to be voted out that year.
James Nesbitt – Dominic Calligan
Dominic is a known criminal who police suspect was behind Clint’s death. However, now he’s a successful businessman who crosses Kat’s path on her search for answers.
Like Richard, James is no stranger to Harlan Coben adaptations, having been in Stay Close alongside Michael C Hall.
The northern-Irish actor is a firm veteran of the trade whose career spans nearly four decades. James has starred in iconic shows such as Line of Duty and Cold Feet. He has also appeared on the silver screen in The Hobbit trilogy, as well as numerous other films.
Charlie Hamblett – Charlie Pitts
Charlie, who conveniently plays Charlie in Missing You, is a new member of the missing persons teams.
He’s previously starred in Killing Eve, 2018’s Macbeth alongside Richard Madden, and The Burning Girls.
Oscar Kennedy – Brendan Fells
Brendan is a teenager who reaches out to Kat to look for his mum who he believes disappeared after meeting up with a man online. He is searching for answers and in his mind, Kat is the only person who can help him.
Oscar has been in The White Queen with Rebecca Ferguson, Great Expectations, Toast, and BBC’s Wreck.
