Um, the actress who plays Hope just revealed three huge Virgin River season six spoilers
It’s finally coming to Netflix this week
The new season of Virgin River comes out this week and Annette O’Tool, who plays Hope, just dropped some big spoilers.
Season six was due to arrive in the autumn but got delayed until December 19 due to the Hollywood writer strikes.
After a whole year, the new season is finally almost here and Annette revealed all in an interview with Country Living.
The season is all about the big wedding
It’s obvious that Mel and Jack get married from the trailer but the Hope actress revealed that’s the main storyline of the entire season.
“The wedding is the big thing,” she confirmed. “I think it’s the thing everybody’s been waiting for—desperate for [Mel and Jack] to get together—and I’m happy to say it’s going to happen and it happens in a really beautiful way.”
“It’s beautifully done. Our costume designer, Candace [Cruikshank], did an incredible job with everyone.”
Jack proposed to Mel in season four and they’re finally tying the knot two whole seasons later, but something is bound to go wrong.
There will be a brand-new filming location
At the end of season five, we saw Mel and Jack buy Liuly’s property and finally settle down together in Virgin River.
However, Annette revealed that this will bring a whole new filming location that we’ve never seen before.
Lily’s property has appeared in Virgin River loads of times but it was burnt in the wildlife so they’ve had to rebuild it entirely.
Hope’s Alzheimer’s will be a big storyline
The third spoiler is a much sadder one, Hope’s Alzheimer’s will be a huge storyline in season six.

She said they were keen to display the illness in a new light, showing that she’s still a person who has issues and problems and must to navigate them whilst battling the disease.
“Most writers now are a lot younger than I am and it’s easier to write somebody who’s just, ‘Okay, she’s got Alzheimer’s and we’ll put her in the attic’—which is what they do because they don’t know how to write it, but it’s like, you just put yourself in that place,” she said.
“If you’re a writer, imagine how it would feel to have all your faculties but now you’re in your ‘70s and physically you can’t do quite as much and maybe you’ve had a heart attack like Hope has had and the brain injury like Hope, [but you’re still a person; you’re still capable].”
More things we’ll see in Virgin River season six
The new season will also expand the story surrounding Mel’s dad , Lizzie and Denny’s pregnancy, Charmaine and Calvin’s relationship, Melissa’s drug operation, and Kaia’s investigation into Wes’ death.
