The Ultimatum creator claps back about the camera crew missing the Nick and Sandy argument
They need to put Go-Pros on the participants at this point
The Ultimatum creator, Chris Coelen, has clapped back at the hate he received for the camera crew missing the big Nick and Sandy argument on the show.
Nick and Sandy had a fight in episode five of The Ultimatum, where Nick showed up at her door demanding to talk to her. J.R., her current husband on the show, was the one who answered the door and told him to “get the f**k out of here.” However, the heated exchange wasn’t caught by the show’s camera crew and instead was captured on a low-resolution nanny-cam house camera. People were particularly mad about missing what went down in the argument, but Chris Coelen has defended his decision to not be “filming 24/7.”
“We always have a line to them, but they are living their lives,” he explained. “And in this particular program, we do have mounted cameras but we’re not obviously in their apartment with them or at their door 24/7. And so we are, every single day, very conscious of making sure that we are connected to them or checking in with them.
He continued: “We’re apprised to everything that’s going on with them to the extent that they tell us. I think people are aware enough of that, that if they ever feel like they need something, that they know to reach out to us.”
Chris Coelen is no stranger to this sort of backlash, as he’s also the mind behind Netflix’s Love Is Blind. The same complaints were made when viewers missed out on most of the drama that took place in the most recent season.

People online have also showed concern about Nick’s reaction to not being allowed to see Sandy that night. After he left the house, the show cut to a 3am time stamp and showed Nick crying and curled up in a fetal position on the couch shouting “why?!” over and over again.
Nick doesn’t need The Ultimatum, he needs therapy…the way he was crying and crashing out in fetal position on that couch screaming “why, why, why?!?” at 38 was so unhinged & concerning #TheUltimatums3 pic.twitter.com/aK4jxvkOFZ
