Ariana Grande treated her 99-year-old grandma to a special screening of Wicked, and it’s the most wholesome thing ever.

The woman, the myth the legend that is Ariana Grande shared this super-cute story to her Instagram. Ariana’s grandmother Marjorie Grande was a teenager when the original Wizard of Oz film was in cinemas. She’s been around for all the overly complicated Wizard of Oz lore.

Ariana was determined to watch her film with her grandma. She literally flew all the way to her hometown of Boca Raton in Florida for just a day so that she could fit this into her schedule. This is great for Ariana Grande’s grandma (although not so great for the world’s carbon emissions).

They went to Cinemark 20, which Ariana used to go to loads when she was a child. Ariana’s brother Frankie also joined them. The SpongeBob boy Ethan Slater appears to have flown to Florida with Ariana Grande. Ariana tagged him on her story, but he’s not in any of the pics. Maybe he was the one taking the photos?

Ariana wrote, “Flew to Boca for a day to watch with Nonna at the movie theater I grew up going to every weekend, Cinemark 20 in Boca.”

As a side point, can we appreciate how cute is is that it looks like Ariana and her grandma are wearing matching pink outfits? Glinda would be so proud.

She then shared what her grandma’s favourite bit of the film was. Ariana added, “Thrilled to report that when the sugar glider had her drum solo Nonna exclaimed loudly, ‘Oh I LOVE that'”.

Personally, if I flew all the way to Florida to show my grandma a film I’d starred in and she went nuts for a drum instead of my stellar performance, I’d be fairly offended. But each to their own, I guess.

Ariana Grande has a super wholesome relationship with her grandma. Marjorie has joined her at red carpet events in the past. Ariana’s grandma even featured at the end of her song Ordinary Things from Eternal Sunshine. She became the oldest artists ever to feature on Billboard’s Hot 100.
