Erm, what exactly is a Streak Pet on TikTok and how do you get one?
The new feature is so cute
TikTok is always adding new features to the app and the latest one has caught everyone’s attention.
After logging in this week, loads of users were greeted with an invitation to create something called a Streak Pet.
The little cartoon is pretty sweet, but what does it actually do?! Here’s everything you need to know.

Erm, what is a Streak Pet on TikTok?
The new feature is a virtual pet that you are given when you have a long streak with someone on DMs.
If you and a friend have sent at least one message to each other every day, you will build up a streak.
Once you get to a certain number of days, TikTok will invite you to raise your own Streak Pet together.
It’s not clear exactly how long the streak needs to be to get a pet, but users think it’s around 30 days.

So, what can you do with the virtual pet?
Once you’ve got the pet, you have to name it, look after it, and raise it by chatting to the person via DM.
There’s a game element to the new feature as you have to complete little tasks that give you growth points.
For example, you get one growth point every time you send a message to each other and four for sending a photo or video.
Once you get to a certain number of points, you unlock the next look and your pet will change appearance and level up.

Not everyone can get a Streak Pet right now
Right now, it looks like the feature is only in its testing stage, so it’s not available for everyone yet.
Most Read
TikTok always tests new additions to the app with a select few accounts first to see if it’s popular.
Then, if it goes down well with users, the feature will be rolled out across all accounts in the future.
Make sure your app is updated to the latest version and start building long streaks with your friends.
If you are chosen to be part of the Streak Pets test, a notification will appear in your DMs section.
