White roses decorated the church and the hearse. Liam Payne was a fan of ten-pin bowling – his girlfriend Kate Cassidy joked on TikTok that “he drags me to bowling at least four times a week”.

There was a floral display in the shape of a bowling ball and pins in the churchyard.

The back of the order of service sheets encouraged people to make a donation in Liam Payne’s memory to Great Ormond Street Hospital. The website says, “Your donation today will continue Liam’s legacy by helping to build a brand-new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This incredible new facility will help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funnier and longer.”

Liam Payne quietly gave lots of money to children’s charities. He participated in Soccer Aid for Unicef, and sold off lots of his old clothes for the charities The Trussell Trust and The Penrose Club in 2021.

He also donated to several ill and injured young people through GoFundMe in 2024, including a 28-year-old American man called Jack with lymphoma, a four-year-old girl called Macy with a tumour on her kidney, and a young American girl who was injured in a school shooting.

The cars had Batman stickers on

According to The Sun, Liam Payne’s friends travelled to the funeral in black cars decorated with Batman stickers. Liam Payne was a huge fan of the superhero. He dressed up as Batman for Jonathan Ross’s Halloween party in 2019.
