Liam Payne’s funeral happened yesterday on Wednesday 20th November. The service took place at a country church in Buckinghamshire. Many of his family members and close friends attended, including all the One Direction singers and James Corden.
The funeral service included many heartfelt details which paid tribute to Liam Payne’s personality. Here are all these meaningful details, explained.
Horses drew his coffin
Liam Payne really enjoyed horseriding. He owned a horse called Titanium Z (or Tommy) which competed in showjumping events. He said on his Snapchat story in October that he was looking forward to going horseriding in Argentina. Two white horses drew the white carriage which carried the coffin.
The flower wreaths were really moving
Red flowers spelt out “son” and blue flowers spelt out “daddy”. The wreathes topped the horse-drawn carriage, then were moved into the hearse.
Decorations remembered Liam’s love of bowling
White roses decorated the church and the hearse. Liam Payne was a fan of ten-pin bowling – his girlfriend Kate Cassidy joked on TikTok that “he drags me to bowling at least four times a week”.
There was a floral display in the shape of a bowling ball and pins in the churchyard.
