Right, when does Spotify Wrapped stop counting your streams this year?

I know you might not want to hear this, but it is actually already nearly time for Spotify Wrapped 2024 – with the looming result that you’ve been listening to the most embarrassing songs on earth no more than about three weeks away. This year has gone way too fast for my liking. Last year, we got Spotify Wrapped on November 29th – which means if the streaming service follows suit again than we will have it in just over two weeks. Usually, Spotify cuts off the streaming stats on October 31st – but as it’s confirmed that won’t be the case for 2024, here’s what we know about when Wrapped will be cut off.

In previous years of Spotify Wrapped, it did not matter if you wanted to diversify the mix of Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan in November or December. You had from January to October to be tracked, and then that was it – with November and December stats never affecting Wrapped. So any Christmas bangers getting streamed was kind of your shameless prerogative.

But this year, PopCrave announced the usual streaming cut off for Wrapped, but had to delete the tweet as Spotify announced on Twitter “The only thing that we end on Halloween is eating candy corn. Stream (and snack) all through the year and we will see you in Wrapped season.”

In 2022, a Spotify chief explained that the company never actually revealed its Wrapped cut off date, saying “The Wrapped personalised experience covers streaming for 2022, so beginning in January and ending a few weeks prior to the launch on November 30. We aim to leave the cut-off date as late as possible to really create a truly personalized experience for the millions of listeners around the world.”

That means that this year the cut off could be like, now. November 13th. Or Spotify might be releasing Wrapped in December a few weeks later – since they announced with full chest that October WASN’T the cut off.

The Tab has reached out to Spotify PR for comment on when the date is for the Wrapped 2024 cut off, and we’ll update here with answers.
