What is The Tab?

The Tab is a national media outlet focusing on student culture, news, and entertainment. From Love Island scandals to studying inspo, to what’s going on at your university,  There is something out there for everyone.

Nearly 30 unis are involved with The Tab, with students writing articles and producing content that they really care about.

Getting involved with the local team means that you have the chance to write for the national site, which has 10 million monthly readers, and to work with editors from HQ, who offer helpful insight into the journalism industry.

What does a Features Editor do?

A Features Editor oversees all aspects of Nottingham’s features section. This means being involved with writing original content as well as editing and providing feedback for pieces submitted by writers.

Some articles similar to those you would be responsible for overseeing include our features piece on the rise of run clubs, several guides on Nottingham life such as how to make the most of autumn, or even our well-loved, weekly agony aunt column which covers everything from relationship drama to impressing your home friends.

You will be responsible for generating witty, educational, opinionated, and creative content alongside weekly pitch ideas for our writers.

Other responsibilities include assisting the Co-Editors in Chief, promoting articles, and growing and interacting with our student audience.

A Features Editor needs to have a pro-active attitude and an enthusiasm for the role.
