Here’s what the two real bachelors from The Dating Game had to say about Rodney Alcala

‘He was a creepy guy’

Woman of the Hour is genuinely one of the most terrifying thrillers to come out of Netflix. Directed by Pitch Perfect queen Anna Kendrick, the whole movie captures the totally uncomfortable vibe that comes with being a woman a lot of the time. However, the women weren’t the only one who picked up on serial killer Rodney Alcala’s creepy behaviour: The fellow Dating Game bachelors Jed Mills and Armand Cerami could sense something wrong with his vibe. In reality, the two other show contestants picked up on it, and had an interesting perspective to offer.

Their thoughts came after the real Rodney Alcala’s crimes came to light. Jed and Armand were approached by the Woman of the Hour producers while Anna Kendrick was working on the film’s script and added their own insights as to what it was like appearing alongside a serial killer.

In the real episode, Rodney was bachelor number one instead of three, with aspiring actor Jed Mills as number one. When asked about his experience working next to Rodney, he said “he was kind of a creepy guy” with “bizarre opinions.” (cite rolling stone). As we saw in Woman of the Hour, Rodney made it very clear to Jed that he always “gets the girl” during the filming of the episode.

Unsurprisingly, bachelor number two had very similar views. Despite being quite the charmer in Woman of the Hour, Armand said that Alcala’s responses weren’t received well by the 1970s audience. Armand recalled the audience was “actually snickering” and even “low-murmuring boos as to his answers.” Who would have thought the serial killer would give off serial killer vibes?
