Revealed: The real reason Love Is Blind dropped Leo and Brittany is so much more brutal

Producers thought Leo was ‘self-interested and money-obsessed’

The real reason Brittany and Leo were cut from Love Is Blind season seven following their engagement has been revealed. Guys, this is pretty harsh.

The couple got engaged after meeting in the pods during this season of the show, but ahead of the Mexico retreat it was announced their journey would not be followed any further. “Brittany and Leo were not one of the six couples chosen by producers to continue their journey in Mexico,” a message in the show read. “They took their own trip to Miami and broke off their engagement weeks later.”

Initially, it was said the show only had a limited budget and could only follow five couples beyond the pods. Because of this, producers had to choose the most “authentic” relationships. Show producer Chris Coelen said at the time: “We make a decision as to which couples we think are authentic. And when I say authentic, I mean most authentically likely to actually be at the altar and say I do.”

So, what was the real reason Brittany and Leo were cut from Love Is Blind season seven?

However, it now looks like much more was said regarding the decision to not take Brittany and Leo any further. According to Vulture, producers had conversations about the motives behind why they were both on the show, and if they were real as a couple.

Vulture chatted with producers and said they came to the conclusion that Leo was “self-interested and money-obsessed” and Brittany was just going on with the process, despite having an “obvious distaste” for Leo.

According to the publication, the decision was based almost entirely on the proposal and reveal footage producers watched. It was then decided Brittany and Leo were the least genuine of the couples. In the final stages of making the choice, it came down to either keeping Brittany and Leo or Hannah and Nick in the cast. In the end, the latter were picked to stay.
