Meet Jake from Love Is Blind UK: Cat’s dog loving, boujee boyfriend

The Love Is Blind UK journey from the pods to the altar has been a long and difficult one, and we saw just half of our couples say I do. However, we already know that there were five engagements that weren’t televised. Many of the contestants on Love Is Blind UK weren’t given much screen time at all, including Jake, who was only seen in the pod stages in the first part of the series.

Now the show is over, one of its most famous members, Catherine Richards, has spoken out on the Bailiwick Express podcast that she may be dating one of these unknown contestants. She said on the podcast: “I am with someone from the pods. I’m with a guy with a dog, and the dog lives with us.” If you cast your minds back to the living quarters from the first part of the season, you may be able to catch Jake among the crowd of faces.

Cat explained how their relationship evolved from the pods: “In the girl’s lounge, everyone talks about their connections. Jake’s name was out there [while] Freddie’s was not. I only had a true connection with Freddie, like, I only wanted him. To me, I wouldn’t change that because I wouldn’t be with Jake if that didn’t happen.” I guess everything happens for a reason!

Out of the 30 cast members who entered the pods for season one, we only saw a handful of these, and many more interesting stories and gorgeous contestants became lost footage. Jake was one of these 30, so here’s everything you need to know about him.

Jake is a 32 year-old civil engineer from Leicestershire. Before going into the pods, Jake revealed to producers that he wanted to go on the show to find love and settle down after having come out of a relationship and recently losing his mum.

He told Love Is Blind UK that his mates would call him an “agony uncle” because he offers the best advice on all things love. He also said he was a self-proclaimed “soppy” guy when it comes to romance for himself, and he’s known for falling in love very quickly. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see any of that on the show!

What does his life look like?

According to his Instagram, Jake seems to be a pretty normal guy, who likes hanging out with friends and going to the gym. It also looks like Catherine’s got competition on the boujee front – Jake seems to be about that life too. He’s shared many snaps all dressed up for parties and holidays, and seems to be a bit of an Ibiza boy.

What was Jake’s journey like on the show?

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much of Jake’s journey past the pods, other than his arrival into the living quarters. But, since leaving the show Jake seems to have stayed in close contact with fellow pod mates Charlie and Richie.

It’s sad we missed out on his story, but we might be learning a lot more about Jake at the Love Is Blind UK reunion, which airs tonight at 9pm.
