All the savage reasons the Game of Thrones cast refuse to watch House of the Dragon

You might think the Game of Thrones cast would be religiously watching House of the Dragon every night it was on, but almost all of the core cast outright refuse to watch the show. From them feeling too “weird” to watch it, to deliberating wanting to “avoid” anything to do with the show, there’s a lot going on.

And obviously there’s been some major shade thrown, so let’s have a look at all the savage reasons why the Game of Thrones cast refuses to watch House of the Dragon.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke stole our hearts as the incredible Daenerys Targaryen during Game of Thrones, but she refuses to watch House of the Dragon.

When asked why she wouldn’t be viewing the prequel, she explained: “No. It’s too weird. I’m so happy it’s happening, I’m so over the moon about all the awards for everyone who made it. Miguel Sapochnik, who created it, and made it, love him. Brilliant, wonderful.

“I just can’t do it. It’s so weird. It’s so weird. It’s so strange. It’s kind of like someone saying: ‘Do you want to go to this school reunion that’s not your year?’ You want to go back to that school reunion?’ That’s kind of how it feels. I’m avoiding it.”

Kit Harrington

Kit Harrington recently went on a pretty brutal rant about the ending of Game of Thrones, so it makes sense he wouldn’t be a huge fan of House of the Dragon.

Finally, Adam has actually addressed the rumours he and Amy are dating after MAFS UK

He previously explained in 2022: “I’ve seen the first few episodes… I loved it, I think they’ve done a fantastic job with it… It’s hard for me to watch because I lived in it for so long. There’s a pain there, you know? So I’m working my way through it slowly… You’re watching a lot of people in your costumes!”

But he soon changed his tune just a few weeks ago when he admitted he would “never” watch the show. He explained: “I think for me, it’s just I’ve spent too long there. And I wish them all the best and I hear it’s wonderful and going really well. But I don’t think I’ll ever watch House of the Dragon, and I don’t think I’ll watch Game of Thrones again for very many years.”

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj also revealed he wasn’t able to watch House of the Dragon because it was “too soon.” He said: “I have not. One day it came on and I saw the opening credits. And it was a little strange because it was the same music and the title sequence was kind of similar. I was like, ‘Ah, this is too soon. Too soon.”

Lena Headey

Lena Headey summed it up in the most minimal words when asked whether she’s watched House of the Dragon or not. She savagely said: “Nah. Too weird. Yeah.” Brutal.
