Zac Efron was hospitalised after an incident in the pool of a villa in Ibiza over the weekend, with the shocking real reason behind the accident now revealed by TMZ.

According to their sources, Zac Efron was swimming in the villa’s shared pool with his friends early on Saturday morning, when he decided to take a dive. However, the dive was too deep for the depth of the pool and he slammed into the bottom of the pool and hit his chest with a lot of force.

He also ingested a huge amount of water into his lungs and showed signs of distress, leading onsite security to help him out of the water. Zac Efron was taken to the hospital as a precaution following his incident in the swimming pool, and X-rays confirmed the water was gone from his lungs.

Whilst he was cleared for release from the hospital after just a few hours, he decided to stay in there for longer as he was notified that a lot of paparazzi were waiting outside for him to come out.

He has spoken out since the incident happened, sharing with his fans that he’s feeling a lot better. He posted on Instagram with a caption reading: “Happy and healthy, thanks for the well wishes,” he captioned a post showing him working out shirtless. He is said to be “recovering just fine” following what happened.
