So, who is Admiral Lohar in the House of the Dragon finale, and what role will she play?

She has been gender swapped from the original books

Despite last night’s House of the Dragon episode being the season finale, we still got introduced to new characters, most notably Admiral Lohar. Admiral Lohar is a Lysene admiral and is the commander of the Triarchy’s huge collection of warships.

Tyland Lannister is tasked to convince Lohar to lend her and the Triarchy’s support to help tear down the Velaryon blockade that’s starving King’s Landing. The admiral agrees to help Tyland by mud wrestling with her, and after doing so she stays true to her word and sends ships out to support the Greens.

But who exactly is Admiral Lohar, and what role will she play in House of the Dragon? Let’s find out!

In the original House of the Dragon books, Admiral Lohar is a man, however, in the series both male and female pronouns are used interchangeably. In the book, Lohar leads the charge in the infamous Battle of Gullet, a bloody battle involving heartbreaking losses on both sides, including Jace and his dragon.

Immediately after the battle, only three of the 28 Triarchy battleships survived, with all three being from Lohar’s hometown Lyseni. As a result, the other nations feel as though Lohar sacrificed their people in order to save his own. Later, Lohar learns some of her men have captured Viserys and she decides to look after him for a time, although he is later sold to a magistrate. In the end, the admiral is murdered by one of his rivals.
