What is the quote actually from?

Kamala Harris was speaking on 10th May 2023 at a White House event, and the full quote is “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree? You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.” Which is apparently something her mum would say to her when giving her a hard time.

Basically everyone just loves the contrast of the bizarre coconut tree line, a signature Kamala cackled and then a very earnest line. Someone on TikTok captioned the clip with “How I feel putting my glasses on” – like the start of it is unserious and then you snap into serious mode. Hope that makes sense, because I do fear that the Kamala Harris coconut tree meme is one of those things that is viral because “it just is.”
