James Corden just confirmed the finale of Gavin and Stacey is coming on Christmas Day!
THE RUMOURS WERE TRUE!
James Corden and Ruth Jones have just confirmed the rumours are indeed true – the finale of Gavin and Stacey is happening after all the rumours and it will be back on Christmas Day 2024.
Writing on his Instagram in a post featuring him and Ruth Jones and the complete script, Corden wrote “Some news – it’s official. We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James.”
The news comes after Deadline reported in February that the show would be coming back for another Christmas special, which Ruth Jones denied was happening and BBC refused to comment on when asked by The Tab if the story was true.
Back in February when denying that the Gavin and Stacey 2024 finale was happening, Ruth Jones said in an interview on RTE Radio 1 “If there was something to say on that front, James [Corden] and I would happily announce it”
“When he [James Corden] came back from America, we went for lunch in London a few months ago and we got papped,” she added.
Speaking about rumours that Netflix and the BBC were in a bidding war over the rights to the special She added: “Apparently there’s a bidding war going on between the BBC and Netflix and I love it because it says ‘a source says’. Who is this source?”
Other cast members denied it too! Speaking on BBC One’s Morning Live, Steffan Rhodri, who plays Dave Coaches, said he had “no knowledge to impart”.
“I’ve heard there was a rumour, I never know where they start and I certainly don’t know where they’ll end,” he added.
