Eddy B has just won a Leeds architecture award

Eddy B holds a special place in our heart. Since it re-opened in 2016 it's been home to many an all-nighter and even a naughty antic or two.

Fit smokers perched on the ledge outside are a guarantee, as are those two girls who just won't shut up about their night before, despite your evil glares.

Now, our favourite slab of concrete has won a Leeds Architecture Award for the Most Outstanding Conserved Building in Leeds.

Most of us weren't around during the pre-refurb days, but it was a huge project that took two years and cost over £24million.

The brutalist (read: damn ugly) architecture outside was conserved while the inside had a complete overhaul to bring it into the 21st century.

Eddy B beat the Fine Arts building and The Lost & Found Club on Albion Street to grab the award.

However, not everyone is happy. Mike Johansson, a History fourth year, said: "Classic Leeds Uni.
