Second year Leeds student confirmed dead after being hit by a taxi in Hyde Park
She was studying theatre and performance
University of Leeds student Alice Walton has unfortunately been confirmed dead after being injured in a car crash on near to Hyde Park Corner. The accident occurred around 4:30 am on Saturday, and she died in hospital on Monday.
The taxi driver involved with the incident has been questioned by police.
Fiona Hoodless, Acting Sergeant of West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: ‘We are working with our colleagues in Nottinghamshire Police to support Alice’s family at what is clearly a very difficult time for them.’
Sergeant Hoodless continued that: “We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it, or anyone who may have been in the area at the time in a vehicle fitted with dash-cam.”
Officers are continuing to appeal for any information about the incident.
