Meet Dan, the Brookes student who only wears suits to lectures
He gets his styling tips from ‘Suits’
Most of us roll into lectures in our trackies, jeans, gym kit, maybe even pyjamas. But one Brookes student prefers to adopt a more formal look when he’s sat in class.
Meet Dan Underwood, a second year Bio Med student who wears suits to every lecture, and is by far the sharpest student at Brookes.
First, why wear suits all the time?
Suits are just what I feel comfortable in, and if I am honest, I just like to be well dressed. Back in the days when I had to wear a school uniform my classmates used to think that I was the man in the uniform photo as I was arguably the smartest student in the year – so I guess it all stemmed from there.

Do you have a favourite suit?
That is like choosing a favourite child – but I would have to go for my cream one. It is the most recent addition to my collection yet it ticks all the boxes in terms of size, comfort, design etc.
How often do you get a new suit? What’s the average price?
My average price must be around £180. I own seven of them. I used to buy a couple a year but now I am at university I have only purchased one in the time I have been here.
Do you have any inspiration when it comes to suits? Any style icons?
If I ever end up looking like someone from the television show Suits I will be very content.
Last question, any advice for any other potential suit wearers?
If you are buying your first soon I would recommend getting one tailor made, or at the very least getting professionally measured as that way you will know your exact size. Then you can go to somewhere such as Top Man and you will know exactly what fits. But if you want the best fit and budget isn’t an issue then tailor made is always the way to go.
