Ex-King’s student receives life sentence for conspiracy to commit ‘ISIS-inspired’ attack
He was initially charged in October 2014
Sahib Majeed, a former physics student at King’s College London, has been given a life sentence for conspiracy to murder British soldiers, police officers and civilians in an ‘ISIS-inspired’ attack.
He was jailed alongside his accomplices Tarik Hassane (medical student who missed an offer at King’s) and Nyall Hamlett.
BBC journalist Steve Swann who is following the story reported on Twitter: “Suhaib Majeed jailed for life with minimum term of 20 years.”
He also reported: “Tim Maloney QC says Majeed had been a “talented, able student” with a “very good future” before these events.”
Majeed was working under Hassane, dubbed the mastermind and ‘The Surgeon’. He is reported to have purchased a gun and ammunition before getting arrested earlier in September.
Judge Mr Justice Wilkie told Majeed and Hassane: “You were members of a conspiracy to commit murder on the streets of London.”
