An opportunistic thief decided he wanted more than a burger when passing Tango restaurant in the small hours of Monday morning.
At around 2:30am the two men were walking down Elvet Bridge when one took a fancy to one of the circular wooden sides attached to wall of the burger house, popular with students.
The men, who the restaurant assumes are Durham students, have failed to return their souvenir and if they do not do so the Tango’s owner has said he will take the matter to Durham University officials.
