Hallelujah! Wetherspoons has come to the promised land right across the road from The Lanyon Building
QUB students have rejoiced following plans announced to open a brand new Wetherspoons in the old Methodist Church a stone’s throw from The Lanyon Building.
Makes perfect financial sense.
The new pub, perfectly located on University Street, will be welcomed by students who currently have to trek all the way from the university to Bridge House on Bedford Street.
Reportedly, Wetherspoons paid between £800, 000 and £1.2 million for the building, despite it being on the market for only £400, 000.
There are further plans to buy another ‘Spoons in Royal Avenue, which would be ideal for University of Ulster students in the city centre.
And it means they wouldn’t have to drink in ours.
